New articles up in the writing section of this site…

Two more Barb DVD reviews, namely THE HEIRESS and ARTHUR…

Meanwhile, I posted my Paul Dini interview. You may have seen him in the geek news lately as being a or the prime mover behind this new WONDER WOMAN cartoon I hear is coming…

Next up, another one of my SEPTAGON BRIEFING columns, which I write in my capacity as editor-in-chief of Septagon Studios, went up this week:

http://news.septagonstudios.com/?p=450

Also: WMS member Steven Saunders has a 5-page preview for that project of his, and Stephen Lindsay’s, and Dominic Vivona’s– THE SECRET CROSS. The 5 page short features guest artist Breno Tamura.

More about this here:

http://secretcross.com/blog/?p=98

Also, like, the thing itself is there. Yeah.

So anyway: NewGSGStoryAndExactlyHowItWillBecomeAvailableToYourComputingDevice-Watch: I am negotiating with Orcus from Orcusville to hunt down Secret Facilitator Man and ascertain when exactly the new story will go live. More on this news as it develops. It should develop quickly– Orcus is currently having some cash flow problems.

And he knows that I know this. In fact, I KNOW that he knows that I know.

And he, in turn, is aware of that fact.

I will post all new information the second it becomes functional, so stay tuned for news of this next time, in the news posting we must call

Dork The Bounty Hunter

Bounty Hunter-Gatherers

New articles up in the writing section of this site… This time I’ve chosen to go in a different direction with each one… for me, I decided it was time I put the second installment of my Septagon Column THE SEPTAGON BRIEFINGS, the one about comics conventions, up on this site… For Barb, it’s more DVD reviews. For the whole family! If your whole family has the GUTS…

In other news, Josh Wagner has broken his vow to stop blogging:

http://goodagainstremotes.blogspot.com/

Steven Saunders is doing all kinds of geeky new things over at his blog:

http://grognerd.blogspot.com/

But most importantly…

Not long ago Steven Saunders hyped GSG and one young woman said she wanted more GSG updates (like I didn’t just go write this: http://www.wickermanstudios.com/comics/short/tfb1.html –but I understand, that’s not GSG). I said… let me look this up and be specific… “There’s a new story all drawn (and lettered if I remember right) and just waiting its turn… but it involves a secret announcement, and there’s a tiny holdup on that announcement that’s depending on non-WMS people.”

Well the day when I can tell you precisely how it is that the next story will be available to your computing device is coming up fast. I hope I can do so by this time next week, but it’ll probably be 2 weeks.

But it’s coming…

It’s Mark Hamill’s birthday! Happy birthday to the man famous for being the best Joker.

Oh and me. Happy birthday to me.

And happy unbirthday to you, because I haven’t updated for two weeks, so there are various things to tell you about…

The most important thing I want to tell you about is a new story… no, not a Gun Street Girl story, not this time…

When we brought Gun Street Girl back to Graphic Smash, we called it GUN STREET GIRL PRESENTS, because it was always our plan to have something a little more– good short stories that were only connected to GSG by the fact that they were done by the same creative team… here’s the first one, a little story that inserts an extra little side-bit to Arthurian legend that I wrote that Ryan Howe’s illustrated…

http://www.wickermanstudios.com/comics/short/short-archives.html

There will be more where this came from– the next one will be by Barb…

New articles up in the writing section of this site… if you use these newspostings as your guide, it’s like 6 articles have suddenly turned up on the site! There’s Barb’s favorite interview that she ever did with Grant Morrison, a little Secret Origin of Barb, and just an amusing thing that she did on comic book cliches…

The ones in my section are also by Barb, but I sort of introduced them… I’m like Johnny Carson, introducing Barb three times in row… but we still called that The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson when that happened, so they ended up in my writing section… they’re entertaining, that’s all you need to know…

In the meantime, Steven Saunders wrote a new Total Party Kill column… which now lives over at the Vorpal Gnome site.

Oh right, and I wrote a new Septagon Briefing…

Thursday, July 17th, 2008

Okay, wow, I’m going to have to get used to being able to edit this any time I want. Let’s see…

–I read that Atelier Marie & Elie volume 4 came out from Tokyopop, Barb was Associate Editor and adapter on that…

–The place I read it was yesterday’s update of www.mangalife.com, which featured Barb reviewing DrMaster’s METRO SURVIVE volume 2, and the conclusion of my spotlight on Viz’s FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST seires… also, don’t miss my review of Dark Horse’s SAMURAI EXECUTIONER volume 1, which is still on the front page of MangaLife if you scroll down… as are some other stuff from Barb and myself, like an article about dubbing anime into English, and more about FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST…

–Part 2 of Josh Wagner’s 3-part FICTION CLEMENS, which I edited, is now on sale from Ape Entertainment…

–My latest column for Septagon is up for reading at http://news.septagonstudios.com/?p=228

–Wicker Man Studios now has a Facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Wicker-Man-Studios/24578591295

I suppose that’s it for now, but there’ll be more coming very soon…
