It’s Mark Hamill’s birthday! Happy birthday to the man famous for being the best Joker.

Oh and me. Happy birthday to me.

And happy unbirthday to you, because I haven’t updated for two weeks, so there are various things to tell you about…

The most important thing I want to tell you about is a new story… no, not a Gun Street Girl story, not this time…

When we brought Gun Street Girl back to Graphic Smash, we called it GUN STREET GIRL PRESENTS, because it was always our plan to have something a little more– good short stories that were only connected to GSG by the fact that they were done by the same creative team… here’s the first one, a little story that inserts an extra little side-bit to Arthurian legend that I wrote that Ryan Howe’s illustrated…

There will be more where this came from– the next one will be by Barb…

New articles up in the writing section of this site… if you use these newspostings as your guide, it’s like 6 articles have suddenly turned up on the site! There’s Barb’s favorite interview that she ever did with Grant Morrison, a little Secret Origin of Barb, and just an amusing thing that she did on comic book cliches…

The ones in my section are also by Barb, but I sort of introduced them… I’m like Johnny Carson, introducing Barb three times in row… but we still called that The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson when that happened, so they ended up in my writing section… they’re entertaining, that’s all you need to know…

In the meantime, Steven Saunders wrote a new Total Party Kill column… which now lives over at the Vorpal Gnome site.

Oh right, and I wrote a new Septagon Briefing…

Interesting bits of news in the manga world:

1. First, a thing we edited for Del Rey is out: MINIMA! volume 2. Imagine Toy Story meeting, I dunno, a sweet and innocent version of the manga/anime Kare Kano/His and Hers Circumstances, and you’ll be on the right track.

2. Even more Park-and-Barb-flavored, a manhwa (from Korea, you see) we adapted/rewrote from Day 1, volume 1 of FORGET ABOUT LOVE, is currently on sale from TOKYOPOP. It’s a high-school comedy.

3. We found out today that the most recent issue of the United States’ version of SHONEN JUMP, brought to you by Viz Media and… well… Shonen Jump… has, as its first story (before Naruto even), NORA, a manga Barb and I adapted/rewrote which will be on sale soon. In the manga world, this is a big deal. If you are into manga and action, Shonen Jump is THE big deal, monthly magazine-wise. Even if you love all genres equally, really. Once again, that’s the October 2008 version of Shonen Jump, Volume 6, Issue 10. It’s comedy/supernatural/action in the flavor of Naruto and Inu-Yasha.

Oh, I updated the Park and Barb show column, too… http://www.comicsbulletin.com/pb/

Two new articles up in the writing section of this site… One is from the Comics Bulletin column (The Park and Barb Show), the other isn’t… I’m particularly fond of mine this week, but Barb’s, an interview with writer Jamie Delano, is also good.
